Water and Life

Did you say, drought? Not just in California, but Kenya is experiencing radically reduced rainfall this year as well. Drought in the Kamonong community can be devastating for crops since most Kenyans in this area grow their own maize (corn), beans and vegetables. Most locals can't afford to irrigate, so they solely rely upon the seasonal rains to bring them life.

Welcome Principal Ouma!

When Elma Kamonong High School opened in 2015, the EBCCK Board of Directors was fortunate to be able to encourage Mr. Richard Keter, a former school administrator, to step away from his retirement and take on the task of opening our new high school. We benefited from the blessings of his experience for five years, as the school grew from one class of form I students to a full school with close to 120 students.

Weller-Sparling Library & Computer Centre

In 2006, Jill Weller, Walindwa’s founder and president, made her first trip to Kenya and the Children’s Centre. The trip was led by Pastor Ray Sparling and proved life-changing for Jill. While there, she felt God’s call to help marginalized and abandoned children in Kenya in a larger way and began to plan a year-long mission trip to Kenya.
