Keith Edwards
Born in Pasadena, California, Keith attended UCLA receiving BA and MD degrees, followed by specialty training at UC Irvine in Radiology. He sub-specialized in Interventional Radiology, and worked at various medical facilities over 38 years, most recently UCSD and the Naval Medical Center, San Diego. He is currently retired from active practice.
Keith has been married for over 30 years to Lori, and they are parents of three children (Griffin, Graham, and Avery). Keith has been involved in mission work in various locations throughout the world from Costa Rica to Mexico to San Diego. His interest in Africa began in 1997 in the Democratic Republic of Congo, but when civil war made working in Congo impossible, his focus changed to Kenya. He led a mission trip to first establish a relationship with the children’s home in 2004 and has been active in supporting the work ever since.
The Village Presbyterian Church and Rancho Bernardo Presbyterian Church mission connection to the Elma Barnett Children’s Centre grew out of Keith’s deep friendship with David Richmond MD, a former colleague, who was a MK (Missionary Kid) in Kenya and knew the Barnett Family growing up and first suggested them as mission partners. Richmond and his wife, Kathy, are Godparents to the Edwards’ children and currently live in Idaho. They are ongoing supporters of EBCCK and EKHS through Walindwa.
