Caroline came to the Centre with her older sister Irine. They came from the area of Moringwa, a piece of the forest near Eldama Ravine. Caroline is about 7 years old and already loves learning to use the computer. She loves playing Munda, a dice game, and eating Mandazi, a donut popular in the African Great Lakes region in Kenya.
Caroline is quick to pick up on new concepts. When she was just in kindergarten, her hands were too small to learn to type, but she learned all the letters of the alphabet and their location on the keyboard. Caroline is at the top of her class and faces a bright future, with the help of sponsors to finance her education and basic needs: $500/year.
Caroline’s favorite bible verse? Appropriate for a girl who aspires to be a Judge when she grows up:
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. 1 Peter 3:12
