Shelter Expansion

UN MDG #1 notes that progress to end hunger has been stymied in most regions and that one in four children in the developing world are still underweight. Elma Barnett Children’s Centre Kamonong (EBCCK) currently grows fruit and vegetables in its own orchard and garden and with recently obtained continuous 12 acres the current land is being developed for the new Elma Kamonong High School and a portion of that land has been allocated to agriculture in order to increase the amount of food grown for the residents.  Nearly 90% of their maize, beans, millet, vegetables and fruit are grown on site.  The goal is to be 100% self sustaining.
In addition, EBCCK has its own clean water source in the form of a well onsite and thus a portion of the land is devoted to dairy cows.
