Healthy Living

Walindwa is guided by UN Millennium Development Goal #4: reduce child mortality. One of the cornerstones in reaching this goal, according to the UN, is “expansion of basic public health and nutrition interventions, such as immunization, breastfeeding, vitamin A supplementation, and safe drinking water.” Walindwa will leverage our relationships in the area to develop a healthy living program to benefit the local Kamonong community. Components could range from providing vaccinations for children, to presenting health education to parents, to opening a healthcare clinic administered by Elma Barnett Children’s Centre Kamonong, with the income from the outside users providing for the nurses’ remuneration. Walindwa anticipates this program to be defined by 2014.
